The Camry once again rather disparingly delivered us to a trailhead via the BC forest roads. Upon reaching the parking lot wea saw some cars with dome rather interesting amenities. It seems that the local porcupines have developed quite a taste for rubber. So if your car is left here overnight, you'd best fence it off if you like your tires, brake lines and hoses!
Thus began a repet performance of the previous day's type of scenic adventure. Up the glacial valley past refreshing streams until we reach sufficient elevations to encounter more wildlife. The hoary marmot lives among the rocks beside high meadows. In more popular hiking ares the marmots tend to get rather bold because folks tend to feed them. Marmots, like porcupines are attracted to the salt produced in the perspiration of humans. So don't be surprised when a bold marmot gets close for a little salt lick.
Beauty like this just makes one's heart sing. We must find a home near here. Unforunately for us, we're Americans so we can't make a home here in beautiful Canada without some doing. But a couple hours dawn the road lies a friendly place where we can find a new home! Let's go there!
