Canada's Kootenay Rockies are certainly one of the most beautiful places we ventured to on our journey. The Camry, howver, did not share this opinion as delivered us along some forest roads that were made for vehicle of much lower dedigree. After losing part of an exhaust and creating quite a few abrasions on the underside, we made it to the trailhead for our hike in hte Alps Alturus in Goat Range Provincial Park.
We bagan hiking up a verdant valley through meadows in bloom and cool clean streams. Our long climb continued until we turned the corner to peer down into a deep glacial velley as our trail once again bloomed with wildflowers. We stopped for lunch looking out over a still frozen lake before making our way back down into the valley now hazy with smoke.
Well, we didn't see any of the namesake goats of this park, but it was made up for by vistas both grand and tiny. Perhaps we'll se some wildlife on tomorrow's hike in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park.
